HCV-HCSA Lead Assessor training in Malaysia

Proforest is running a training course for HCV-HCSA lead assessors for professionals who want to lead HCV-HCSA assessments.

Course description

HCV-HCSA assessments are required in the new 2018 RSPO certification standard, and HCV-HCSA assessments are also required by companies as part of their sustainability commitments in other forestry and agricultural commodities. The course combines taught modules, an in-depth practical case study and field exercise, with group work based on a simulated HCV-HCSA assessment.

Proforest are a recognised training provider for both HCV Resource Network (HCVRN) and the High Carbon Stock Approach (HCSA) – and so the agenda and contents of the course meet the syllabus of the HCVRN and HSCA. Participants successfully completing the course will become HCSA Registered Practitioners and also meet one of the requirements to become a licensed HCV assessor under the HCVRN Assessor Licensing Scheme (ALS).

Why do this course?

The HCV-HCSA integrated concept is increasingly being adopted as a land-use planning tool and it also integrates requirements on Free, Prior and Informed Consent.
